CHAPTER 1 ~THE WOMAN FROM THE SKY~ With the bursting rush of a comet the silver pod bulleted through atmosphere, and crashed into the blue ocean. For days uncounted the metallic shell floated and bobbed, until the currents pushed it onto a golden sandy beach. There on the shore it became encumbered by layers of seaweed and driftwood. In the recesses of its programs a timer ended; and with the screeching of steel on steel its hidden doors opened. The afternoon sun beamed crimson shafts of light that danced off the roaring waves. Inside, the pod revelled the coma-sleeping body of a human woman.
